The Mets got the news they were expecting regarding Mark Vientos, who is expected to be out for six to eight weeks with a fractured right hand.
Vientos was sidelined after being drilled by a pitch on Thursday against the Royals.
He initially stayed in the game but was removed an inning later when his hand began to feel numb.
Vientos, who was placed on the 10-day IL, is not expected to need surgery.
