Tyson Fury returned to action against heavyweight veteran Mariusz Wach in a low-profile scrap in Pattaya, Thailand, last month. Now, the 46-year-old has shared his thoughts on Fury’s current ability ahead of a clash with Anthony Joshua.

Fury called for a long-awaited grudge match against Joshua after defeating Arslanbek Makhmudov back in April, but ‘AJ’ maintained that he would first require a ‘warm-up’ and agreed to take on Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia.

Fury then proceeded with a tune-up of his own, lining up Wach on a non-televised bill, despite the fact that Wach, who challenged Wladimir Klitschko for the unified heavyweight throne in 2012, had lost seven of his previous 10 bouts.

At the Max Muaythai Stadium, the Polish heavyweight survived seven rounds against ’The Gypsy King’ before retiring on his stool, awarding Fury with his first stoppage win since he halted Derek Chisora almost four years ago.

Speaking to Seconds Out, Wach labelled Fury ‘very dynamic’ and said that he is looking forward to seeing how Joshua copes with his unique style.

“Tyson is a very [unorthodox] fighter, he has long range and he is very dynamic. He is sharp and very strong.

“I am waiting for his next fight with Joshua, I am very interested in this fight.”

It looks increasingly likely that the all-British fight will take place in New York, though Eddie Hearn has now threatened to call the fight off if an announcement is made without a new deal being agreed to accommodate the left-field location.
