Keyonte George and the Utah Jazz have agreed on a five-year, $157.5 million rookie scale contract extension. The deal is fully guaranteed.

At the beginning of the offseason, it was considered unlikely that George and the Jazz would sign an extension but the two sides were able to find common ground with this deal.

George, who struggled through his first two NBA seasons, averaged 23.6 points and 6.1 assists per game last season while posting a .609 true shooting percentage, a dramatic improvement in efficiency that repositioned him as a core piece of Utah's rebuilding effort.

The Jazz added to their backcourt this offseason with their selection of Darryn Peterson with the second overall pick in the draft.
