Kamaru Usman recently broke down Raoni Barcelos’ domination against Raul Rosas Jr. before the scary collapse at UFC Vegas 121.
The 39-year-old took on the much younger Rosas Jr. in the main event of UFC Vegas 121. Just as it looked like Barcelos would get the job done via unanimous decision, a successful takedown from the 21-year-old had the Brazilian lose consciousness in what appeared to be his head briefly hitting the fence.
Barcelos was then stretchered off, taken to Level 1 trauma center where he underwent a CT scan, and only after that, the UFC issued an update saying he is ‘stable and conscious.’

(Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC)Breaking down the fight in the latest episode of the Pound 4 Pound Show alongside Henry Cejudo, Kamaru Usman stated that Barcelos’ performance until the KO wasn’t surprising. When Cejudo said that the fight was one-sided (in favor of Barcelos), Usman added:
It was kind of expected. That’s kind of what I expected going in because I knew how tough he [Barcelos] was, and I’ve been saying it for a while…When we were looking ahead to these fights, I’ve said it. I think I’ve been on the card with him, and I’ve been able to watch him a few fights and call a couple of his fight, so I just know how tough he is.
