UFC commentator Joe Rogan has given his thoughts on the upcoming clash between Alex Pereira and Sergei Pavlovich.

At UFC 335, we will see one of the biggest heavyweight fights of the year take place when Alex Pereira and Sergei Pavlovich collide. Pereira is going in search of a third weight class championship, whereas Pavlovich is attempting to hold gold for the first time in his UFC run.

Of course, this isn’t a title fight, but you would have to imagine a big win for either man will earn them a shot at the belt – even for Sergei Pavlovich, despite not quite having the same level of star power as ‘Poatan’.

After the bout was announced, Joe Rogan had the following to say about Alex Pereira vs Sergei Pavlovich.

Joe Rogan on Alex Pereira vs Sergei Pavlovich

“It’s a very exciting two fights,” Rogan said during Saturday’s UFC 332 broadcast. “I love Diego Lopes at lightweight, especially coming off that spectacular knockout of Steve Garcia on the White House lawn. Him vs. Charles Oliveira should be a barnburner.

“‘Poatan’ again at heavyweight, he’s determined to try to win a title at heavyweight, and the man won’t go back to light heavyweight. He’s like, ‘I want another shot at Ciryl Gane.’ he’s got to go through Sergei Pavlovich to get it, and that’s a tough task. Pavlovich is a huge, huge heavyweight with gigantic power and fantastic boxing.”

For Pereira, this is an absolutely critical fight for his heavyweight title prospects – and given how things went against Gane, he needs to figure out a way to look a lot sharper.
