Guard Julie Allemand broke the World Cup assist record during Belgium's 80-68 win over Australia on Monday.

The Tempo guard now has 111 assists in the tournament, breaking Spain's Laia Palau's previous record of 108 assists.

"I'm just so proud because for Belgium, this is how we play," Allemand said after the win. "We are so unselfish. I'm just happy to have that one as a special one, especially when you look at the names next to me."

Allemand has 24 assists through the opening three games of the tournament.

Allemand is averaging 6.3 points and 5.6 assists for the Tempo this season.
