Anthony Edwards has identified Target Center, Madison Square Garden and TD Garden among his favorite places to play in the NBA, highlighting the atmosphere he experiences in Minnesota, New York and Boston.

“Well, of course home or Madison Square. Madison Square, TD garden, New York, Boston, Philly, and Atlanta at home. But it’s hard to play in Madison Square Garden too. Great place. It’s hard to play there. You got to be ready for that. Boston is the same way New York is,” Edwards said.

Madison Square Garden stands out to Edwards because of the environment created by the New York crowd. He specifically grouped the arena with Boston’s TD Garden, saying both venues present similar challenges for visiting players.

Edwards also included Philadelphia and Atlanta among the places he enjoys playing, while Target Center naturally makes the list because it is his home arena with the Timberwolves.

The 25-year-old guard enters the 2026-27 season as the centerpiece of a Minnesota team that underwent significant changes during the offseason. Edwards averaged a career-high 28.8 points per game in 61 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season, while adding 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

He shot 48.9% from the field and 39.9% from three-point range while averaging 3.4 made three-pointers per game. Edwards also received All-Star recognition and finished third in Clutch Player of the Year voting.

Minnesota finished the 2025-26 regular season with a 49-33 record, good for sixth place in the Western Conference. The Timberwolves advanced through the first round by defeating the Denver Nuggets 4-2 before losing to the San Antonio Spurs 4-2 in the Western Conference semifinals.

The Timberwolves subsequently reshaped the roster around Edwards. Minnesota acquired LaMelo Ball from Charlotte in a four-team blockbuster, pairing the All-Star guard with Edwards in the backcourt.

Ball averaged 20.1 points and 7.1 assists in 2025-26, giving Minnesota another high-level offensive creator alongside its franchise player.

The Timberwolves also signed Jonathan Kuminga to a two-year, $12.4 million deal after clearing salary through the trade of Josh Green. The projected starting group of Edwards, Ball, Jaden McDaniels, Kuminga and Rudy Gobert represents a major change from the team that reached the second round last season.
