Former NBA guard Josh Richardson has announced his retirement as a player. Richardson is retiring after a 10-year NBA career, in which he played for six different teams. The 6-foot-5 guard also spent a portion of last season playing in Spain.

Over his career, Richardson appeared in 554 regular season games for the Miami Heat (over two different stints), Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans. The 10-year veteran averaged 11.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and a steal per game after being drafted in the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft.

In a post on his Instagram account, Richardson wrote:

"I always gave my best, that's why I can say this with no regret. I am grateful to have been able to love this game and it love me back as much as it did. It wasn't set up for me at any point in my career, and from high school, college, and the pros, I humbly worked my butt off every day be the best that i could be. All my fans, coaches and teammates, I hope I left a good impression and a positive view of me."
