Jon Jones has sent a message to his protege Gable Steveson before the latter’s second UFC outing.

This weekend at UFC 331, Steveson will lock horns with 33-year-old Sean Sharaf, who is 0-2 in the UFC.

Last night, during the pre-fight press conference, the 2020 Olympic gold medalist was heavily booed by fans and criticised by his opponent. Sharaf brought up se*ual assault allegations from Steveson’s past during the presser. He said:

“I don’t dislike the guy. Nobody likes a r*pist. This guy r*ped a woman in 2019, and that’s why everyone is booing him. You can’t do that sh*t, it’s wrong.”

Three hours ago, Gable Steveson uploaded several training snaps to Instagram. He tagged his coach, friend, and mentor, Jon Jones, in one of the snaps. “Bones” commented on the aforementioned post before the comment section was limited. He wrote:

“Trust in your training, you’re doing amazing right now. Excited to watch you dominate.”

Gable Steveson says he will fight for the UFC heavyweight title in 2027

After scoring a first-round knockout in his UFC debut at UFC 329, Steveson plans to make quick work of Sean Sharaf this weekend at UFC 331 as he looks to extend his undefeated MMA record to 5-0.

The 26-year-old heavyweight knockout artist, who has four first-round KO finishes and loves to stay active, believes he would fight for the UFC heavyweight title in 2027. He said during the presser:

“[Next year] I will fight for the UFC heavyweight championship.”
