Former UFC two-division champion Jon Jones’ relationship with CEO Dana White might be moving in the right direction after UFC 329.

Jon Jones watched cageside as his heavyweight protege, Gable Steveson, finished his UFC debut with a first-round knockout against Elisha Ellison at UFC 329 last Saturday. It marked Steveson’s highly-anticipated first appearance in the Octagon after the Olympic gold medalist signed with the promotion earlier this year.

After retiring from Mixed Martial Arts last summer, Jones has turned his full-time attention to advising Steveson to potential UFC gold. Steveson is one of the most highly touted prospects in recent UFC history and could potentially get the fast track to a title opportunity in the shallow heavyweight division.

After his exclusion from the White House card earlier this year, Jones publicly asked for his release from the promotion after a heated back-and-forth with UFC CEO Dana White through the media. As of this writing, Jones technically remains under contract, but he’s doubled down on his decision to retire.

At the UFC 329 ceremonial weigh-in on Friday, Jones and White crossed paths for the first time since their feud escalated earlier this year. But thankfully, it appears White and Jones turned over a new leaf, as Jones shared on social media.

Jon Jones reverses course as Dana White beef appears to subside after UFC 329 run-in

In a recent Instagram story post, Jones shared a selfie he took with White at UFC 329 along with a message of gratitude.

“Changed my life, always a homie no matter what,” Jones said of White.

Despite their up-and-down relationship, things between White and Jones seem cordial after their recent bad blood. White still touts Jones as the greatest UFC fighter of all time, a designation that might not change anytime soon.
