Orgo-Life the new way to the future

Eddie Hearn signed Odel Kamara with glowing praise, describing him as a powerful action fighter destined to produce major nights in Liverpool. Kamara’s final amateur fight offered Matchroom a far less convincing preview of his professional future.

“This kid has got it all: he has got the looks, the personality, the power, and, above all, he can really fight,” Hearn said in Matchroom’s signing announcement. “I think Kamara will be in the conversation over time as one of the most exciting stars we’ve ever produced in this country.”

That praise overlooks what happened when Kamara faced Torekhan Sabyrkhan in the 2025 World Championship semifinals.

Kamara began the fight by jumping into range, releasing rapid combinations, and skipping backward before Sabyrkhan returned fire. His hand speed allowed him to score, but the punches lacked the strength to discourage the Kazakh.

The fight changed once Sabyrkhan realized he could ignore the incoming shots. He absorbed Kamara’s flurries without blinking, closed the distance, and forced him to work beyond his preferred short bursts.

The commentator compared Sabyrkhan to “a Terminator” as he walked Kamara down. The description fit. Sabyrkhan showed no reaction to the rapid combinations and kept advancing as Kamara’s resistance weakened.

By the third round, Kamara was falling forward after punching, retreating in straight lines, and losing the snap on his shots. Sabyrkhan cornered him and attacked at close range. Kamara gasped for air, grabbed repeatedly, and was outworked inside.

The fight footage provides a much clearer evaluation than Matchroom’s promotional release.

This was more than an amateur defeat. It was a trial run against the type of pressure Kamara will face as a professional, and he failed it. Fighters who cut off the ring and thrive at close range will not scatter after three quick slaps. They will attack his body and force him to work when he wants to hold or retreat.

The loss should have given Hearn pause before making grand statements about Kamara’s power. Sabyrkhan showed no respect for what was coming back at him and forced the Liverpool boxer into survival mode within three rounds.

This is not merely a technical flaw Tony Sims can fix in the gym. Sims can refine Kamara’s technique, improve his balance, and teach him to sit down on his punches. A trainer cannot manufacture the natural stopping power needed to keep rugged light middleweights from advancing.

Matchroom can guide Kamara through the early stages of his career with careful matchmaking. The real test arrives when he encounters a professional willing to march through his rapid bursts.

Hearn secured a marketable Liverpool prospect with fast hands, but Kamara’s most revealing amateur performance exposed the weakness behind the sales pitch. When Sabyrkhan ignored his offense and forced him backward, Kamara had no alternative plan.
