They also hit the jackpot with Jaka Bijol and Noah Okafor, as the Swiss attacker scored four goals across April and May to secure safety, with their knack for unearthing a gem in the transfer market ensuring relegation was never a worry.
Daniel Farke will want his team to kick on now and aim for more than just the relief of safety, with a couple of signings possibly in the works to help push them further up the top-flight standings.
Leeds enter race for versatile star
Leeds will also know they don't need to break the bank this summer to snap up Premier League-calibre signings.
Indeed, Calvert-Lewin would enter the building on a free transfer, while the most splashed out on a single player was a rather modest £18m, when landing Okafor from AC Milan.
We, the next shrewd purchase the Whites could make is landing the signature of Yunus Musah, who was Okafor's teammate briefly at the San Siro.

Football Insider report that Leeds are firmly in the race to try and win the services of the versatile 23-year-old, but it won't be a walk in the park to snap him up, as interest is expected to emerge for Musah from European suitors, too, with Milan looking to move him on.
Speaking to FI, former Manchester United scout Mick Brown said: "Leeds are not alone in looking at him. If Musah is going to become available, I expect Leeds will be one of a few clubs across Europe interested in doing a deal."
Brown continued: "Any player in his position is bound to attract a lot of interest. He's highly-rated and will probably be available, so lots of teams will be aware and on high alert."
Musah spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Atalanta in Italy and Serie A side did have an option to buy him for £22m but have decided against activating that clause.
With the American not at the World Cup either, a move could soon whir into motion, with the one-time Atalanta midfielder's malleable nature surely a huge draw for the Whites, with Musah similar to former Elland Road great Stuart Dallas in this regard.
Why Musah could be the new Dallas at Leeds
Dallas did have to cut his whirlwind Leeds career short in the end due to a horrific knee injury, but the Northern Irishman is still held in very high esteem in West Yorkshire to this day.
Going on to make 257 appearances for the Whites before his shock retirement, Dallas was a key part of the famous Leeds side that won the Championship title under Marcelo Bielsa, and then finished in a stunning ninth position in the Premier League right after promotion.
Scoring 28 goals and tallying up a further 18 assists, the 62-time Northern Ireland international became a firm favourite of Bielsa's, with the South American even going as far as to laud Dallas as "an example for all of us" to follow in 2021, as the number 15 became well-known for slotting into a starting XI wherever he was required.
Staggeringly, come the end of his long Leeds career, the only position Dallas hadn't filled in the starting lineup was in between the sticks, with the 35-year-old regularly featuring as a full-back, alongside his midfield duties down either wing, or through the middle of the park.
As Bielsa further waxed lyrical in 2019, it's not "usual" to find a player who is that committed to the cause, but Farke could sign himself an updated Dallas in Musah, with the New York-born star capable of inserting himself into a lineup as a winger, or a full-back, away from being a central midfield option, much like the beloved Northern Irishman.
His former Milan boss, Stefano Pioli, would go out of his way to describe him as a "complete player", and much like Dallas, he has a keen eye for a goal and assist, with 13 goals and 12 assists collected across his entire career to date, which started on the youth pitches at Arsenal.
His route back to the Premier League could soon come with Leeds, with Musuh possibly viewed in a Dallas-like light down the line, as a presence who gave their all, irrespective of what position in the team he was chucked into or how much gametime he was afforded.
Farke will be hoping the glory days of the cult figure return, as he eyes up a top-half finish next season, like the one Bielsa pulled off.
