Having written for The RedmenTV, he is particularly an expert on all things Liverpool.

One thing that Tottenham Hotspur cannot be accused of this summer is failing to back Roberto De Zerbi. Sandro Tonali, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson have all arrived, with the Lilywhites spending more than £200m.

There is likely to be more on the way, too. It's an open secret that Spurs also want to sign a new left-sided star and Rafael Leao is a serious contender.

The AC Milan man has now responded to Spurs' interest, handing those in North London a major boost.

It looks as though Leao could be heading for the exit door in Milan and that comes at the perfect time for Spurs. The North London club are in an ambitious mood and have now received the go-ahead from the winger to make their move this summer.

There is actually the potential for a bargain deal here. Reports have gone as far as to suggest that Milan could accept just €60m (£51m) to sell their star man, who has two years left on his current deal.

At his best, Leao is one of the most dangerous one-on-one players in Europe. Combine that with his output and Spurs would have an excellent winger at the peak of his powers.

It would be yet another statement from Tottenham and would get one over on arch-rivals Arsenal, who have also shown interest in the Milan man.

It looks like the Lilywhites are out to land yet another statement star. This time, however, they could do so at a bargain price.

Leao responds to Tottenham approach

According to TeamTalk, Leao has now green-lit Tottenham's move after the Lilywhites launched their approach to secure his signature. It hands Spurs a key boost ahead of Arsenal and others, who are yet to turn their interest into formal talks.

In terms of price, there's also the chance of a bargain. Previous reports have claimed that Milan could accept just £51m, which would be a fraction of the price that Tottenham were quoted for Savinho last summer and the price they've paid for other targets in recent weeks.

The North London club haven't got a lot to lose. If Leao reached his top level at the club, then they'd have a world-class forward.

Leao would transform Spurs' attack

De Zerbi has the new-look backline, he has the fresh midfield duo. What he doesn't have is the deadly frontline to lead his Spurs side back into Europe next season. Leao can change that.

The Portugal international is the talisman that Spurs have been waiting for and one that won't exactly break the bank. Owen Hargreaves even went as far as comparing Leao with the iconic Ronaldinho in 2024, as he became Milan's star man.

"He's Ronaldinho-vibes, sometimes, when he's on it. I think to be world-class, you've got to be consistent. Because he's a bit flaky and a bit loose at times, he's probably just missing that gap to world-class, but the talent's there to be world-class." - Hargreaves

After 10 goals and three assists last season, Leao is ready to take the Premier League by storm as soon as Spurs advance their deal this summer.
