Daniel is an experienced football writer and editor, having worked in the football media industry for over a decade. 

After voluntarily writing for Fresh Press for two years, helping to build and establish the Read brand, Daniel started a part-time job with Fresh Press that later turned into a full-time writing and editing role, writing for club-specific pages such as Read Norwich, Read Celtic, Read Liverpool, and Read Arsenal.

Daniel spent just shy of a year writing and editing for Liverpool-based website, Anfield Watch, which included conducting and/or transcribing interviews with Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg, former Wycombe striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, and journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Since the summer of 2021, Daniel has worked for Snack Media (now Valnet) and has been a contributor to Football FanCast, on a freelance and full-time basis, as a writer and editor. 

Daniel is a Norwich City fan and season ticket holder. He has been heard on BBC Norfolk and helped DAZN with research for their commentary due to his knowledge of the club, along with being featured in several local papers across the country, including the Coventry Telegraph and the Liverpool Echo, for Norwich-related content. 

Daniel's knowledge extends to Scottish football, having covered Celtic and Rangers for several years. He particularly enjoys producing player analysis and producing transfer content.

Andy Robertson, Martin Dubravka, Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke, and Mateus Fernandes have all officially been added to the squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The Lilywhites are also closing in on a club-record deal to sign central midfielder Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United for a staggering fee of £100m.

Bringing the Italy international to North London may not be the end of their business, though, as De Zerbi also wants to add more quality to his options at the top end of the pitch.

Bournemouth attacker Eli Junior Kroupi is a target for Spurs and the young Frenchman would be open to making a move to the club, if they pay the £90m asking price for his services.

Spurs offered chance to sign World Cup star

The 20-year-old forward, who can play through the middle or off the left flank, scored 13 goals in 33 appearances in the Premier League for the Cherries in his debut season in the division last term.

Whilst the former Lorient star would be an exciting addition to the squad, the club are also looking at a player who would be an even better signing for De Zerbi.

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur are one of a number of clubs in the race to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford in the summer transfer window.

The report claims that the Red Devils would like to cash in on the England international this summer after Barcelona opted against paying the £26m option to buy that was included in his loan deal.

It adds that Spurs and German giants Bayern Munich are two of the teams, among others, who have already held talks with intermediaries after being offered a deal for the winger.

TEAMtalk reveals that Barcelona's deal to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle has taken them out of the race for Rashford's signature, and it remains to be seen whether or not Tottenham will take up this opportunity to sign him.

How Tottenham's Rashford interest could impact their pursuit of Kroupi

Spurs have varied their summer business between experienced stars and young talent, with 29-year-old Senesi and 32-year-old Robertson complemented by 21-year-old Fernandes and 26-year-old van Hecke.

They may now have a decision to make on whether they want to splash £90m on a 20-year-old forward like Kroupi, or to go for 28-year-old Rashford to come in and make a greater short-term impact.

Given that Spurs already have young players such as Mikey Moore, Wilson Odobert, and Mathys Tel in the wide areas, it may be better to go for the player who will be better in the here and now.

Rashford produced more goal contributions (15) than Kroupi (13) did at league level in the 2025/26 campaign, and provided more of a dual threat as both a scorer and a creator of goals on the left flank.

The Bournemouth star caught the eye with some stunning long range goals, hence why he outperformed his xG, but it remains to be seen how sustainable that will be over several seasons.

Rashford, meanwhile, has hit double figures for goals in eight seasons in his career and ended the 2025/26 campaign with 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, living up to when England teammate Anthony Gordon described him as "one of the best players in the world".

The 28-year-old wing wizard has also shown his quality at times in the World Cup for England this summer, scoring in the opening group game against Croatia last month.

Rashford's haul of 25 goal contributions in all competitions is more than Kroupi has ever managed in his senior career and 12 more than the Bournemouth star produced in the 2025/26 campaign.

At the age of 28, he also still has several years left ahead of him at the top of his game and is not heading towards the end of his career just yet, which is why he can be a great addition for the short and mid-term under De Zerbi.

He may not have as much potential as Kroupi, who is eight years younger, but he seems like a better fit for what Spurs need at this moment in time and is the better player in the here and now.

That is why Tottenham could end their interest in a big-money deal for the Cherries attacker by taking up this opportunity to sign Rashford instead.
