There won't be many teams more desperate for the summer transfer window to open than Rangers. Not least to take the headlines away from Danny Rohl and an ill-picked battle with James Tavernier.
The Gers have gone a season without silverware and questions are coming thick and fast for the 49ers, who must answer in emphatic fashion in the coming months.
£15m star "wants" to join Rangers
Rohl has called for leadership after snubbing Tavernier. Some at Ibrox may decide to call for his head as a result. The 49ers, meanwhile, have continued to back their man and should continue to do so in the summer transfer window.
It looks likely to be a big one yet again, but just one year after Russell Martin was backed with plenty of arrivals to forget in Scotland, the Gers must get things right.
To that end, it looks as though plenty of names could steal the headlines, including Bobby Clark. The young midfielder looks almost certain to leave Red Bull Salzburg on a permanent basis this summer following a successful loan spell at Derby County, and Rangers have reportedly ramped up their efforts to secure his signature.
He may not be the only midfielder to arrive in the near future, either. According to his agent, Lewis Ferguson "wants" to join Rangers, even if it is not immediately.
Speaking to Hotline Live, as relayed to Daily Record, Bill McMurdo said: "Two things he's said to me are that he wanted to play in the English Premier League at some time, and he wants to play for Rangers at some time."
Lewis FergusonValued at £15m by Bologna, the 26-year-old will have to become the club's most expensive ever arrival if he is to join Rangers, but there's plenty to suggest that he'd be worth every penny.
£15m-rated Ferguson would be an instant upgrade on Raskin
Swapping one player who may push for a move away for another who openly "wants" to join the club seems easy maths for those at Ibrox, especially given that Ferguson would be an instant upgrade on Nicolas Raskin.
Without Champions League football, rumours will undoubtedly recommence over the Belgian's future this summer. Last time out, it was the likes of Aston Villa and Leeds United chasing his signature.
One year later, that interest is unlikely to go away if those sides sense an opportunity.
Cashing in isn't always a bad idea, however. By selling Raskin, Rangers could instantly fund a record move for Ferguson, who certainly wants to be in Scotland.

Rohl called for leadership and Ferguson would provide exactly that in possession. The Bologna man is the metronome that could step up to replace Raskin who, to his credit, rarely misses a beat at the heart of the Gers' midfield.
Ferguson's prior work at Aberdeen is also reason for encouragement, having scored and assisted 60 goals in 169 games at Pittodrie in all competitions. Raskin, for comparison, has just 36 goals and assists to his name in 145 games for the Gers.
Considering his prior heroics with the Dons, and his status as skipper in Italy, the Scotland international is a stellar, safe option. And safe is exactly what Rangers need if they are to stop the rot.
The Ferguson name already has a legacy at Ibrox thanks to Derek and Barry Ferguson. It's only right that the next in line finally gets his chance in the spotlight for the Gers.
He's very much gone the long way around, but if Raskin departs this summer, Ferguson has his best opportunity for years to tick a much-wanted move off that career bucket list of his.
It would be quite the story if, in the space of one summer, the 26-year-old played a starring role with Scotland at the World Cup before completing a dream move at long last.
A lot of pieces need to fall into place for that to happen, including a certain American dream, but Rangers should play their part as soon as possible.
Rangers could sack Rohl to hire serial winner who's "similar to Postecoglou"
Rangers have a decision to make on Danny Rohl's future after the loss to Hibernian at Ibrox on Wednesday.
