Frank Warren has spoken out over the continued controversy surrounding where the long-awaited Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight will be held.

After being linked to a battle with one another for over a decade, former two-time world heavyweight champions Fury and Joshua will finally square off later this year, but the current biggest talking point is over the location for the bout.

Many fans have raised frustrations that it appears that the clash between the two British stars won’t be in the UK, with Madison Square Garden in New York believed to be the current frontrunner for where they will collide.

Queensberry Promotions chief Warren has been part of Fury fights in both the UK and the USA, and speaking to IFL TV, he sympathised with those unhappy that it may be in the USA, but admitted that the clash simply being on is the most important thing.

“I think it would be disappointing obviously for the British fans, but having said that, the fight is on. If it’s on in the UK, great, if it’s not, it means 90,000 fans that would see it won’t see it live in the UK, but the millions who will watch it on TV will still see it on TV.”

Fury and Joshua were both victorious last month, as the ‘Gypsy King’ claimed a seventh round retirement win over Mariusz Wach, while ‘AJ’ recovered from two knockdowns to knock out Kristian Prenga in round two, with the pair now expected to meet in November.
