The clock is well and truly ticking as fight fans await confirmation of where Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will finally collide.

Fury and Joshua’s long-awaited showdown was all but confirmed when both men won their respective warm-up bouts, despite each of them somewhat underwhelming in different ways in their two stoppage wins.

However, Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua’s reluctance to travel stateside for the contest, after reportedly signing for a fight on British soil, has thrown a spanner in the works in recent weeks and lead to concerns that the blockbuster battle could collapse.

Speaking with talkSPORT Boxing, Queensberry promoter, Frank Warren, confidently predicts that the clash will indeed go ahead across the pond and maintained full belief that it will not be cancelled.

“I think that the fight will be on in America, that is what is going to happen. Tyson is actually in America now, training. He flew out there a couple of days ago, so he is training in America.

“I think the fight will go on in America and getting some flight seats and the additional money which is in Eddie’s contract with them, I think it will get sorted out – and it will get sorted out.”

Continuing, Warren went on to explain why it is necessary for a Netflix-broadcasted Fury-Joshua fight to happen overseas, with the difference in subscriber count being the key factor in the decision, before comparing the bout to the iconic ‘Rumble in the Jungle’.

“I have not gone through all of this publicly, there were contractual issues that had to be sorted out. Hopefully that is all going to get done, it’s going to have to get done fairly quickly but I believe it will get done and that’s it.

“Netflix want the fight in America, I don’t what amount of subscribers they have got – I think they have got around eight-million subscribers in the UK, in America they have got 250 million. So that is where they are at, they want to put it on the Friday night.

“Should it be at Wembley? Yeah, we would all have loved it at Wembley, we have been through all of that. Should [Muhammad] Ali and [George] Foreman, two American fighters, have fought in America in one of the great fights instead of going to Zaire for an iconic fight?” 

It is believed that Friday, November 20, is the targeted date for the fight.
