Arsenal hold talks with FC Porto striker William Gomes' representatives

According to a report from Globo Esporte journalist Gustavo Garcia, Arsenal have made enquiries regarding Porto winger William Gomes.

The report states that Arsenal, along with Man United, have held discussions with representatives of the Brazilian attacker as they gather information about a possible future move.

At this stage, there is no suggestion that formal negotiations have begun between Arsenal and Porto.

Instead, the report indicates that the Premier League club are undertaking preliminary checks on the player's situation, contract status and long-term availability.

Those conversations are often a standard part of the scouting process before clubs decide whether to progress their interest further.

Gomes is regarded as one of the most promising young attackers currently playing in Portugal.

The Brazilian joined Porto from Sao Paulo and quickly established himself as a player with significant potential. Comfortable operating on either flank but most effective from the left, he has earned praise for his dribbling ability, direct running and creativity in one-versus-one situations.

Arsenal's interest fits a familiar pattern.

In recent years, the club have regularly targeted young players with high ceilings, and Gomes appears to fit a similar profile.
