ONE Championship
A Swiss debutant with 30 career wins would normally command plenty of caution. One unbeaten Thai atomweight has studied the tape and found no single weapon worth fearing.
Duangdawnoi Looksaikongdin meets Aline Seiberth in the atomweight Muay Thai co-main event of The Inner Circle 33 on Friday, October 2. The bout streams live from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, exclusively for members of The Inner Circle.
The 27-year-old Looksaikongdin Boxing Camp product is 3-0 in ONE, with her most recent result a unanimous decision over veteran Yana Yip. That win came despite heavy outside pressure, which arrived just two days after her brother-in-law Rodtang Jitmuangnon lost to Takeru Segawa.
Seiberth, 35, holds the WBC Muay Thai European Championship and makes her promotional debut with a point to prove. Duangdawnoi and her team have broken down the Swiss striker’s footage, and her read centers on a heavy one-two followed by low kicks.
“I’ve watched some of her fight footage. She’s got a solid one-two punch combination that she follows up with low kicks. Based on what we’ve been working on in camp, I’m confident I can get past her. Her punches look heavy, but there’s no single weapon of hers that I consider particularly dangerous,” Duangdawnoi said.
Duangdawnoi Looksaikongdin wants an early finish
The Thai already owns a second-round stoppage from her second ONE outing, against Regan “Coconut” Gowing. She has no interest in leaving this one to the judges, either.
A victory would bring her closer to the main roster contract she sees as a key step toward a title opportunity. For now, her attention sits squarely on Seiberth.
“If I can finish the fight, I definitely will. I don’t know what style Aline will bring, but I’ll do whatever it takes. If it’s time to exchange, I’ll exchange. If there’s a chance to finish it or counter hard, I’m taking it. I got the finish in round two back in my second fight. For this one, if possible, I want to end it early, doesn’t matter which round,” she said.
