Since the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Eric Lauer from the Toronto Blue Jays, he has been a dominant force in their rotation.
The Dodgers own an 8-0 record when he is on the mound, showcasing how he's resurged his performance following a 1-5 record and a 6.69 ERA with 26 strikeouts across six starts with the Blue Jays. His struggles forced the Blue Jays to designate him for assignment on May 11.
The Dodgers possess a great skill and history of searching for hidden and mid-level talent, such as Max Muncy and Tommy Edman. While Lauer had a strong 2025 season with the Blue Jays, his success didn't initially carry over to this season and his change of scenery has helped immensely.
Since joing the Dodgers, he has sported a 4-0 record and 3.35 ERA with 26 strikeouts across eight appearances this season.

The Dodgers' flawless 8-0 record with Lauer on the mound has made him a clutch left-handed starting pitcher, and he's gained consistent run support during his outings.
In his most recent start against the Philadelphia Phillies that led to a 9-5 victory on July 22, the Dodgers offense continuously provided him with early leads in the game that helped to take down the Phillies.
But how has Lauer made a turnaround in his performance with the Dodgers since his early struggles with the Blue Jays this season? The Dodgers helped Lauer with making adjustments to his posture on the mound.
The Dodgers noticed a flaw in his delivery where he was heavily leaning backward and helped him revamp his release point that also sharpened his landing on the mound.
In addition, he has taken on a more aggressive approach with his command and has reverted from trying to dominate with unnecessary strikeouts. All in all, he has shifted his focus by working to generate soft contact and trusting his elite defense behind him.
