Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayLater this year, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are set to finally collide in a blockbuster clash in Cardiff, with the WBA (Super) heavyweight world title up for grabs.
Now, reigning WBO heavyweight world champion, Daniel Dubois, has cast his verdict on how the bout will play out.
Joshua had the chance to become boxing’s fifth three-time heavyweight world champion when he challenged Dubois for the IBF heavyweight crown in September 2024. However, ‘AJ” was dealt a damning defeat as Dubois dominated and defended his belt with a round five knockout.
Since then, Joshua has secured wins over both Jake Paul and Kristian Prenga whilst working under the watchful eye of trainer, Iegor Golub, who also coaches Oleksandr Usyk. Those triumphs have been deemed enough to warrant a shot at the now-vacant WBA belt against Fury, who would also become a three-time heavyweight ruler if victorious.
Looking ahead to the long-awaited fight, ‘Triple D’ told Sky Sports that he is forecasting a win for ‘The Gypsy King’ in December, but credited both men as ‘legends of British boxing’.
“I think Fury [wins]. Hopefully, they go in there and get this fight over with. Everyone has been talking about this fight for such a long time, it’ll be good to see them both get into the ring.
“[They are] both two legends of British boxing.”
Dubois also shared his interest in a potential unification showdown with Fury, declaring that ‘those are the fights that boxing is all about’.
