New Denver Nuggets guard Cam Johnson praised teammate Nikola Jokic’s unique skill set, calling the center’s decision-making “incredible” on The Young Man & The Three. Johnson explained that Jokic combines elite basketball IQ with physical ability, allowing him to act quickly in any situation.

“He’s always moving, cutting, diving, setting screens, popping,” Johnson said, via HoopsHype. “He just lets the game develop around him and knows the movement of his teammates and defenders.”

Johnson highlighted Jokic’s ball control and awareness as central to his dominance. “He sticks his arm up to get a rebound and the ball kind of glues to his hand,” he noted.

Since being traded to Denver in July for Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 first-round pick, Johnson has observed Jokic firsthand. The Nuggets’ seven-time All-Star and three-time MVP continues to set a high standard. He averaged 26.2 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game in the 2025 playoffs.

Jokic’s career highlights include an NBA championship in 2023, three NBA MVP awards, and five All-NBA First Team selections. His unique ability to read the game ahead of everyone else allows him to control both the flow and pace of the Nuggets’ offense.

Johnson emphasized that Jokic’s approach can look deceptively slow to casual viewers, but every action is calculated and precise. “It may look slow to some people, but everything he does is like very split-second decision,” he said.

Denver relies on Jokic to anchor the offense while maintaining flexibility for guards and wings to thrive. Johnson added that reviewing game film with Jokic is both educational and “super encouraging,” allowing younger players to see firsthand how elite talent operates on the court.
