Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayUFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, who recently claimed undisputed status by retiring Jon Jones (without throwing a single punch), has plans to fight and defeat everyone in the Top 10 of his division.
That would make put him among the greatest heavyweights of all time.
But unlike the wishy-washy waterfowl Aspinall is used to dealing with, record-setting knockout artist Derrick Lewis is up for the challenge. In fact, “Black Beast” is already prepared to compete for the heavyweight strap for a second time.
Without having to compromise his championship fight camp.
“I’ll stand right there with him,” Lewis told MMA Junkie. “That’d be good to fight him. Before everything is said and done with, I have a couple of fights on my contract. I would love to finish out my contract. That’d be great if I can. Let him know, ‘Hey, you can fight Derrick for the belt.’ What do you think I’m gonna do? Tap him out with a submission or something? I’m just looking to knock guys out. I’m not looking to do nothing else. Every punch I’m throwing, I’m trying to knock the head off. I’m not trying to waste anything.”
Lewis may be putting the cart before the proverbial horse.
That’s because the 40 year-old “Black Beast” must first blast his way past undefeated Brazilian bruiser Tallison Teixeira atop the UFC Nashville fight card, locked and loaded for this Sat. night (July 12, 2025) at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Aspinall, 32, has yet to announce his next fight (but blames UFC for the delay).
Perhaps UFC is waiting to see what happens in Nashville?
