UFC BMF titleholder Charles Oliveira’s next bout has been announced, and the rumors are true. Former UFC featherweight title challenger Diego Lopes is moving up to 155 pounds and will be taking on Oliveira in the main event of UFC 335 on December 12 for the BMF strap. This announcement was made earlier tonight during the UFC 332 live broadcast.

Check out the announcement below:

“Do Bronxs” is riding a two-fight win streak and is the No. 3-ranked lightweight contender. In his most recent bout, he dethroned Max Holloway and captured the BMF strap. However, the Brazilian faced backlash from fans and the MMA community, as there was nothing BMF-ish about the way he defeated Holloway. The former lightweight champ relied heavily on his wrestling and was unwilling to stand and trade with “Blessed” or turn the bout into a slugfest.

Now, Charles Oliveira will have a chance to rectify his mistakes and prove that he is a real BMF when he takes on Lopes at UFC 335.

Lopes, on the other hand, last competed at UFC Freedom 250, where he knocked out Steve Garcia. Lopes has already fought for the 145-pound strap twice and failed to win it in both bouts. Staying at featherweight and earning another title shot is something Lopes is not willing to do at the moment, and he has thus decided to move up to 155 pounds.

Dana White has already reacted to the UFC 335 headliner. White believes the BMF title bout between Charles Oliveira and Diego Lopes will be “bat shit cr*zy.”

“It should be absolutely bat shit crazy, that fight.”
