Anthony Davis has undergone a procedure to repair a detached retina in his eye that he suffered during the 2024-25 season. Davis played through multiple hits to the face last season. Davis is expected to be ready for the start of his first training camp with the Dallas Mavericks.

In nine games with the Mavericks last season, Davis averaged 20.0 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.2 blocks to go with a PER of 21.4. 

The Mavericks will be without Kyrie Irving for at least the first part of the 2025-26 season as he recovers from his torn ACL.

Davis is signed through the 2027-28 season as part of his three-year, $186 million extension though he has a player option for the final season.
