After just over 17 days and 8 hours, Ana Jager became the second woman to finish the 2025 Tour Divide, repeating her second-place finish in 2024 and adding a third podium finish to her Tour Divide resume, having won the event in 2022 as part of her bikepacking Triple Crown. Jager is one of the few women who chose to ride a dual-suspension bike for the race, most likely subscribing to the theory that comfortable is fast, even at the expense of a little weight.
From the beginning of the race, Jager found herself in no-woman’s land, far enough back from the leading duo of Lael Wilcox and Nathalie Baillon that she never made contact with them, and far enough ahead of whoever was in third or fourth place at the time that her placing was never in danger.
If Jager is anything, she’s consistent, going to bed each night around 1 a.m. or 2 a.m. and stopping for on the order of six hours. Her consistency and apparent lack of major slowdowns meant she stayed well ahead of Karin Pocock with nearly a 200-mile gap when all was said and done.
Jager has traditionally stayed off social media, both in her everyday life and when racing, and this event was no exception. Aside from the occasional Eddie Clark photo or image coming out of Brush Mountain Lodge, she stayed out of the public eye and rode her own race—a bit of a rarity in bikepacking these days, and something worth admiring. Major congratulations, Ana, on a ride well executed!
