Tom is a football journalist with five years of experience. He has been featured in the Non-League Paper, Crawley Observer, Sussex Express and The RedmenTV - producing features, news and conducting interviews.

For Football FanCast, Tom has sat down with a number of names from the industry, including Ally McCoist, Philippe Senderos and Chris Waddle. Elsewhere, he has covered the National League South final, the Formula E London Prix, Crawley Town and Brighton’s U21s.

Tom enjoys writing features about teams in the Football League and Premier League, whilst also receiving the opportunity to conduct interviews on behalf of FFC.

Having written for The RedmenTV, he is particularly an expert on all things Liverpool.

Liverpool have received a major boost in the race to sign Micky van de Ven from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with the Dutchman ready to ditch Manchester United in favour of an Anfield move.

Van de Ven makes Liverpool decision

A lot of this focus will rightly be on Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson this weekend. They're set to bring an end to their Liverpool careers, which have been full of historic success. There is unlikely to be a dry eye inside Anfield on Sunday as those farewells take place.

Behind those farewells, however, there could be a forgotten exit. It's worth remembering that Ibrahima Konate is yet to sign a new contract at the club and is still on course to leave as a free agent this summer. Brentford could also be his last game for Liverpool.

That leaves the Reds with another farewell to deliver and, perhaps more importantly, a centre-back to replace in the coming months. It's why any business could get done early and why a Premier League rival could be an ideal option.

According to TeamTalk, Van de Ven is now desperately "prioritising" a move to Liverpool this summer and is ready to ignore interest from Man United to get the move done.

Sources told TeamTalk: "Sources suggest he would choose Liverpool over rivals, including Manchester United, without hesitation if both clubs table formal offers."

With that said, Liverpool may be hoping for an Everton victory to help relegate Spurs this Sunday, given that Van de Ven's price-tag could reportedly sit at a hefty £90m if the Lilywhites' avoid the drop.

It would make the Dutchman, who shares an agent with compatriot Ryan Gravenberch, the third-most expensive signing in Liverpool history and more expensive than Virgil van Dijk - handing the Reds plenty to consider this summer.

Salah "happy" with style last year, says Slot

Whilst it will be an emotional farewell on Sunday, Salah has made sure to take one last shot at Arne Slot before bowing out.

The Egyptian publicly slammed Liverpool's drop in standards and subdued style in a shock message on social media, claiming that they should always play 'heavy metal football'. Slot, in what has been the theme of the season, has now responded.

"You are doing a lot of assumptions; first of all you say that he wants to play that style and then say it is not my style. I think Mo was really happy with the style we played last year as it lead to us winning the league.

"Football has changed, football has evolved, but we both want what is best for Liverpool and that is for us to compete for trophies, which we haven’t done this season.

"He and the team – and I was included in that – brought the league title back after five years and we would like to challenge for that again next season and continue to evolve the team. That is my take on it."

As things stand, Slot has outlasted Salah. Whether that remains true when the current campaign comes to an end remains the big question, though.
