What's up with Yonex in 2025? While their main competitors Victor and LiNing been coming out with a slew of rackets, Yonex has been really quiet. In fact, the last racket I remember them launching was the Nanoflare 700 Pro.

Is it a case of "don't fix it if not broken"? The Arcsaber line been largely stagnant since Arcsaber 11 Pro came out.....

Maybe Yonex is thinking of going full time into Pickle ball? Hahaha.
I doubt the Arc saber series will be continued. There also has been lots of sponsorship shifts at Yonex. Wonder does this signal a shift in top management?

Lining is just all over the place with their series up till now no clear chart of what is for what just guess work by us, nothing official.

Victor does have some new tech, other launches are just marketing hype and collaborations in short run.

So I would say Yonex is still ok?

Anyway traditionally yonex has been boring. Abit like Toyota. Hahah

Yonex was really something back in 2010s.

HH Series - Armotec (AT) was replaced by Voltric (VT), then VT got replaced by Astrox.
EB Series - Arcsaber (ARC) remain the same eventhough Duora was supposed to replace ARC Series.
HL Series - Nanospeed to Nanoray then now Nanoflare.

But now, nothing is interesting other than the introduction of Pro, Tour, Play and Game version. Plus the model was kept to maintain except changing the gen version. Has the badminton racket face stagnant development?

they were planning to release VA's new colorway for the 100zz, bag, towel and shoes back in March but I think the green-white colorway isn't particularly well received so maybe they put a hold on that to review.

I think the naming of Play, Tour and Pro nonsense killed YY slightly.

Cos after buying a top end racket, u have a beginner or a kid rocking a similar racket at less that ½ ur price. That won't go well with consumers.

I think only VA fans will be excited. I'm not looking forward to it. Not to mention the very unique, colour scheme.

On the contrary. Yonex's revenue has almost tripled since 2021:

Looks like they are currently relaxing a bit and bring in the harvest of what they've seeded in the past years. They seem to be easily dominating the badminton market atm.

Overall they seem to be doing well, especially with all the constant price increases with their rackets.
Maybe not all comes from Badminton, maybe gaining Traction in sports too.

True.. with the current naming method they're able to reach out to a much more wider pool of players especially those beginners and casual players who can't afford the pro series yet able to own similar racket as their idols.

Doubt this will affect advance or pro players who can afford Pro series because they'll know the differences in playability between Game, Play & Tour series and Pro.

The only group of people that will feel annoyed is perhaps racket collectors?

Imo, the feeling of exclusivity owning High end Rackets 😅

Where is the as**x99P post ? Is it taken down ?

I asked myself the same question.

I asked myself the same question.

Back then i also was asked to delete a post regarding new model by brand representative

Currently Yonex is having their new model release expo/conference. Only to insiders / dealers / distributors.

Someone leaked photo / spec of the AX99Pro online here in BC and Yonex have asked to have that removed. I will make it available again once it is released.

I think it’s good naming different levels like that, it makes buying much easier for customers. I think one of the reasons why yonex is more popular as they make it so easy to distinguish between rackets. What’s head light/heavy, stiffness etc. You can get your favourite racket, but easier to use/cheaper if you want. I also think it’s better that beginners aren’t getting the pro models instead which I think used to happen more before when they don’t have the technique to use them yet. Just leads to poor form, injuries.

Also I can see it as a good business model. People that start off with the play might upgrade through the ranks of the same racket over time as they improve. Going to get an increase in customers because people will like affordability of rackets like the play, especially when it looks the same. I also think it allows them to charge more for the play models because it’s still the same line in model.

I think the issue is it shouldn’t look exactly the same. I know the upper models have better paint job etc. but you can’t really tell from afar. I think they should be different colours and designs. I think that would appease the racket collectors, higher end players somewhat. But then again maybe beginners would prefer that not to be the case if you buy the play. Hard to please everyone, and I suspect yonex is going with the strategy of whatever maximises sales.

It’s been so slow these days I agree. Hoping for the release of a new model like Nanoflare 900 or something. It would have been nice to bring back the original Nanoflare 800 dna in a new model. 800 pro isn’t the same at all. Also wouldn’t mind new technology/models. I think some 5u extremely head heavy pro models would be welcome like what Li Ning is doing.
