The New York Yankees have been wildly inconsistent for most of the season.

However, they're still 54-42 and in second place in the AL East, and they'll get Aaron Judge back on the field at some point in the near future. As such, and given their bullpen woes, they're more than likely to be buyers at the Aug. 3 trade deadline.

Considering that, MLB analyst Chris Rose of "Talkin' Baseball" predicted that they'll enter — and win — Mason Miller's sweepstakes, as the San Diego Padres will most likely part ways with their two-time All-Star.

Yankees might trade for Mason Miller 

“I said this well over a month ago, like six or seven weeks ago, that this was going to happen. I said that the New York Yankees were going to get an All-Star reliever,” Rose said. “Because as good as David Bednar has been, somebody needs to help out the backend of the Bronx. I’m banking on Aaron Judge coming back, I’m banking on the offense doing a 180, and I think for the first time, AJ Preller is a seller. Mason Miller, welcome to the Boogeydown.”

This isn't the first time that Miller has been tied to a move to the Bronx. He's been one of the lone bright spots for the Friars, and arguably the best closer in baseball.

Miller is 2-1 with a 0.91 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 38 appearances. He's also 25 for 25 in save opportunities. The Padres are hovering around .500 baseball, but they're unlikely to make the playoffs in the NL West.
