Help is on the way for Aaron Boone and the New York Yankees.

It's just a matter of time before Aaron Judge and Max Fried get back on the field for the Bronx Bombers, and that will probably be more impactful than any potential trade.

Nonetheless, that doesn't mean Brian Cashman won't keep an eye out for potential reinforcements in the trade market, maybe even on the other side of town.

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Yankees aren't expected to join the potential Francisco Lindor sweepstakes. Even so, they could be after some other New York Mets stars.

“The Yankees are not prioritizing SS so Francisco Lindor isn’t a fit for them. If the NY teams are willing to deal, the Mets do have players who make sense, including (Luis) Torrens, (Francisco) Alvarez, (Clay) Holmes, and also (Luke) Weaver, assuming he’s ready (but the 2 ex-NYY pitchers will interest many teams),” Heyman wrote on X.

While the Mets might want to hold onto Holmes and Weaver and the Yankees already have a stacked rotation, they could certainly use some help at catcher.

Austin Wells is a solid defensive backstop and game-caller, but his offensive struggles have done more harm than good in the Bronx.

The Aug. 3 trade deadline looms large, and the Yankees can't afford to rest on their laurels as they look to end the franchise's second-longest World Series drought.

As for Lindor, he will probably be the hottest name in the trade market this year.
