Daniel is an experienced football writer and editor, having worked in the football media industry for over a decade.

After voluntarily writing for Fresh Press for two years, helping to build and establish the Read brand, Daniel started a part-time job with Fresh Press that later turned into a full-time writing and editing role, writing for club-specific pages such as Read Norwich, Read Celtic, Read Liverpool, and Read Arsenal.

Daniel spent just shy of a year writing and editing for Liverpool-based website, Anfield Watch, which included conducting and/or transcribing interviews with Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg, former Wycombe striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, and journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Since the summer of 2021, Daniel has worked for Snack Media (now Valnet) and has been a contributor to Football FanCast, on a freelance and full-time basis, as a writer and editor.

Daniel is a Norwich City fan and season ticket holder. He has been heard on BBC Norfolk and helped DAZN with research for their commentary due to his knowledge of the club, along with being featured in several local papers across the country, including the Coventry Telegraph and the Liverpool Echo, for Norwich-related content.

Daniel's knowledge extends to Scottish football, having covered Celtic and Rangers for several years. He particularly enjoys producing player analysis and producing transfer content.

West Bromwich Albion have been quick out of the gates since the summer transfer window officially opened for business earlier this month.

The Baggies have moved to improve the quality of James Morrison's attacking options after the team only scored 48 goals in 46 matches in the Championship last season.

Barney Stewart and Jimmy-Jay Morgan have joined from Falkirk and Chelsea, respectively, on permanent deals after scoring a combined 32 goals in all competitions in the 2025/26 campaign.

Morgan spent last term on loan at Peterborough United in League One and produced 14 goals in all competitions, including 12 in the league, as an attacking midfielder.

The 20-year-old talent will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Tom Fellows, who used his platform at The Hawthorns to seal a £10m move to Southampton last year.

Why Barney Stewart and Jimmy-Jay Morgan will want to be the next Tom Fellows

As unflattering as it is to say, West Brom are in a position where players will be looking at them as a stepping stone to bigger moves in the future, whether that be to the Premier League or another big European league.

That does not have to be a negative for the Baggies, though, because it means that they can attract talented young players with high potential, with a view to making a big profit on them in the future.

Stewart, 22, and Morgan, 20, both scored goals on a regular basis at a lower level last season, but they need to perform for West Brom to convince top-flight teams that they have the physicality and quality to make it at the top level.

Whilst Fellows was denied a chance to get to the Premier League with the Saints, due to Spygate, the winger did finish 17 places higher than the Baggies in the Championship after his move away from the club.

Morgan and Stewart will both be looking to be the club's biggest talent since they had Fellows, who racked up an eye-catching 18 goal contributions in the second tier in his last season at The Hawthorns.

West Brom must beat Birmingham to their biggest talent since Tom Fellows

Whilst the striker and attacking midfield positions have been bolstered with those two signings, the Baggies have been linked with a winger who could be their best talent since the £10m academy graduate.

Earlier this summer, West Brom and Birmingham City were both said to be keeping tabs on Reyes Cleary's situation at Barnsley ahead of a possible move for the forward, who is valued at £3m by the League One side.

The Baggies, who sold the English youngster to Barnsley last year, should push to beat the Blues to his signature to bring him back to the club for a second spell, as he would be an even better signing than Morgan.

Both players caught the eye with their performances in League One for their respective sides last term, but Cleary produced five more goal contributions, with 20 in total.

Like Fellows, the 22-year-old star has the quality to consistently create high-quality chances for his teammates from a wide position, assisting 13 goals in the 2025/26 campaign.

Meanwhile, none of West Brom's players registered double figures for assists in the Championship, which suggests that the Barnsley star has the potential to be a standout performer for Morrison in the final third.

They must, first, though, convince the player to turn down a move to Birmingham, who finished above the Baggies in the league, and that may prove difficult after they decided to sell him to Barnsley in the first place last year.

The club need to recognise that they made a mistake when they sold Cleary and push to win the race for his signature now, paying the £3m asking price to add him to their squad.

His form in League One suggests that the potential is there for him to be the club's biggest talent since Fellows, and the Baggies may have to accept that he may look at the move as a stepping stone in his career.
