Virat Kohli, one of Indian cricket’s most celebrated names, was seen soaking in the Wimbledon 2025 atmosphere at Centre Court during the Round of 16 match between Novak Djokovic and Alex de Minaur. Accompanied by his wife Anushka Sharma, Kohli made a stylish appearance, joining other cricketing stars like Joe Root and James Anderson at the All England Club. Kohli also made headlines by revealing his dream Wimbledon final pick, and it includes a familiar tennis legend.

On the sidelines of the event, Kohli expressed admiration for Novak Djokovic, revealing a personal bond with the Serbian great. The Indian batter named Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz as his ideal finalists for Wimbledon 2025, adding that he hopes Novak lifts the title. Djokovic’s pursuit of another Grand Slam crown remains one of the most compelling narratives in world sport, and Kohli’s endorsement only adds to the buzz. While speaking on the sidelines of the Centre Court action, Kohli made his support for Novak Djokovic clear, expressing deep admiration for the Serbian star’s longevity and greatness.

“I’ve been in touch with Novak for a while now. We’ve been exchanging messages. He’s been very gracious and kind to stay in touch. So, I would say I want Novak and Carlos [Alcaraz] to be in the finals and probably want Novak to win this one, so that will be a tremendous thing for him at the stage of the career that he is in. He is in the conversation for being the greatest of all time, right up there with anyone else, if not the number one, maximum number of Grand Slams. So, he deserves it. I feel with the amount of hard work he’s put in, I really wish he plays Carlos in the finals and he wins,”

With Djokovic set to face Flavio Cobolli in the quarterfinal, Kohli’s words reflect widespread anticipation of another Djokovic-Alcaraz classic, and a desire to see the Serbian add another feather to his already legendary cap.

Kohli recalls return to centre court after 10 years with Anushka Sharma

Kohli also fondly recalled his first Wimbledon visit in 2015 with Anushka Sharma, calling it “a very special memory.” The couple had always intended to return but couldn’t due to their busy schedules.  Kohli also spoke with affection about his past visit to Wimbledon with Anushka Sharma and how the couple had long hoped to return.

“It’s great being here again. Me and Anushka came here in 2015, that was our first experience of being here at the wonderful Centre Court and just to experience what Wimbledon truly is. It was very, very special. We always planned on coming back, could not make it happen for various reasons. Now we have a bit of time in our hand and here we are again,”

Their presence at one of the most prestigious tennis events marked a blend of nostalgia and celebration, as the couple finally fulfilled their long-standing wish. The scenic Centre Court and its historic aura seemed to rekindle memories of their earlier visit, making the outing much more than just a sporting indulgence.
