Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayVictor Wembanyama gathered a large portion of his San Antonio Spurs teammates in Paris this week for a mid-summer mini-camp, less than two months after the team's NBA Finals loss. The team shared a photo on social media showing Wembanyama alongside Carter Bryant, De'Aaron Fox, Dylan Harper, Stephon Castle, Harrison Barnes, Jordan McLaughlin and free-agent signing Tobias Harris, all training at the facility of Nanterre 92, Wembanyama's former French club, in which he now holds an ownership stake.
The group, representing the majority of San Antonio's projected rotation, is expected to train together for roughly a week. Free agent center Kelly Olynyk, who played for the Spurs last season, is also participating in the workouts.
Spurs CEO R.C. Buford praised Wembanyama's influence on the team's culture in comments to French outlet TrashTalk.
"He sets a great example in his approach, in the way he takes care of his body, in the way he connects with his family and with his teammates," said Buford. "There are not many times where 10 guys from a team are flying halfway around the world to go work out together. And that's done because of the respect and admiration and joy that Victor brings."
Fox's participation is notable given his ankle issues during the playoff run and a hamstring strain that limited him ahead of last season's training camp. Wembanyama himself dealt with significant health concerns last offseason after undergoing treatment to remove a blood clot from his shoulder, an injury that ended his 2024-25 season early. He responded with an intense training regimen that included working with Shaolin monks in China.
"I chose to do something much more violent," Wembanyama said before last season. "Maybe that takes away from some time I can spend on shooting the basketball, but it doesn't matter. I wanted to get my body back."
