Uros Medic is looking to make a statement at UFC Belgrade.

Medic is from Serbia and is set to headline the first UFC event in the country against Daniel Rodriguez in a fun welterweight bout. Heading into the fight, Medic is a sizable betting favorite, and he knows he has a chance to make his country proud with his performance.

So, not only is Medic looking to win, but he’s looking to get a spectacular finish on Saturday to send the entire country into a party.

“Obviously, I mean, it’s on me to wrap it up and kind of, you know, put an icing on the cake of this event and deliver a spectacular finish so we can all go home and just enjoy and celebrate,” Medic told MMA Junkie.

Medic enters his first UFC main event riding high as he’s coming off a KO win over Geoff Neal. He’s won three in a row and has won all of his seven UFC fights by knockout.

So, entering UFC Belgrade, Uros Medic has full confidence he can get another KO.

Although Medic knows Rodriguez is as durable as they come and can take a punch, he believes his power is different.

“He’s made his name in this division,” Medic said. “He has 20 victories, 5 losses. He’s a great fighter and has fought and almost finished some of the really, really good fighters as well. So, with that being said, I think his biggest attribute is just that he can take a punch, and he just kind of keeps going. But I’ve met fighters like that before. I’ve crossed paths with fighters that can take a punch. …

“So to all these guys that come around and they’re like, ‘Oh, you know, they’re tough, and they haven’t, they don’t get finished. They don’t get knocked out.’ Sure, they don’t, but they also don’t face a fighter like me. I come to fight, and every second of that fight is going to be a fight.”

Medic pointed to all his other opponents who were considered tough and hard to finish, so he doesn’t think it’s any different against Rodriguez.
