Shortly after Sky Sports reported that organizers are seeking to have Wembley lift its 11 p.m. curfew, Turki reposted the story with the message:

“2 am 🥊”

The post came just minutes after the report outlined why promoters are targeting a much later main event than is customary for British boxing.

ESPN insider Mike Coppinger explained the reasoning behind the proposed schedule.

“That would give U.S. audience 9 pm ring walk in NY and 6 pm in UK for Fury-Joshua, two names recognizable to American fans. Fury has fought stateside many times while AJ coming off Netflix KO of Jake Paul.”

Rather than catering solely to the 90,000 fans expected inside Wembley, organizers appear focused on maximizing the global television audience. A 9 p.m. ET ring walk would place the heavyweight clash in the heart of American prime time, where pay-per-view sales are expected to be strongest.

The proposal would require British fans to stay well past midnight, with the event unlikely to conclude until around 2 a.m. local time. While that schedule would be unusual for a major sporting event in the UK, it would also avoid forcing U.S. viewers to tune in during the late afternoon or early evening.

Fury already has an established fan base in the United States following his trilogy with Deontay Wilder and several Las Vegas appearances. Joshua has also increased his profile with American audiences after his recent knockout victory over Jake Paul, which streamed on Netflix.

No agreement has been announced, and any Wembley deal would still depend on local authorities approving an extension to the stadium’s curfew. But Turki’s latest social media post suggests the late-night schedule is more than just a negotiating tactic, with the Saudi boxing chief seemingly embracing the idea of a 2 a.m. finish if it delivers the biggest possible television audience.
