Tottenham remain determined to seal a blockbuster move for Sandro Tonali as Roberto De Zerbi continues his squad rebuild ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Italy international has emerged as one of Spurs' priority midfield targets following an impressive campaign with Newcastle.

Tottenham saw an opening offer worth around £80 million rejected by Newcastle earlier this month, and the Magpies are understood to value Tonali at more than £100 million and have made it clear they do not want to lose one of the first names on Eddie Howe's teamsheet.

Tonali enjoyed another influential season in black and white, making over 50 appearances across all competitions while establishing himself as Newcastle's midfield conductor.

The former AC Milan star impressed with his range of passing, defensive work and ability to dictate the tempo of matches.

Although Tottenham continue to push for Tonali, De Zerbi is also keen to strengthen his attacking options before the transfer window closes.

The Lilywhites have been regularly linked with Man City winger Savinho across the summer window, with the Brazilian seemingly more open to a north London move after seeing opportunities limited last season.

Spurs tried to sign Savinho last summer, only for the Sky Blues to keep blocking that move, with the ex-Girona star instead penning a new deal.

Now, the landscape has changed, and Savinho to Tottenham is well and truly back on.

However, the 22-year-old isn't the only attacker under consideration by De Zerbi's side.

Tottenham will try for both Omar Marmoush and Cody Gakpo

According to Alfredo Pedullà, Spurs are planning to try moves for both Man City's Omar Marmoush and Liverpool's Cody Gakpo.

The Italian transfer expert reports Tottenham will make attempts for the two Premier League stars with the intention of signing at least one of them.

This is despite their widely reported discussions for Savinho, with Pedulla also suggesting that Spurs are plotting moves for the pair after they strike a deal for Tonali.

He adds that Johan Lange and Vinai Venkatesham are seemingly showing 'great ambition' after they were nearly relegated last season.

Why Spurs want to sign Marmoush and Gakpo

Marmoush's pace, direct running and movement behind defences have made him one of the Premier League's most dangerous transition players when given the chance.

The ex-Eintracht Frankfurt star also arrived at the World Cup carrying significant expectations, with fellow Egypt star Mohamed Salah entering the latter stages of his international career.

Egypt have increasingly looked towards Marmoush to provide another major attacking threat.

Gakpo, meanwhile, remains one of Liverpool's most experienced attacking players despite increased competition for places.

The Dutch international has continued to offer versatility by operating from the left wing or through the middle, and amassed more than 50 appearances in all competitions during the 25/26 season with nine goals and six assists.

Gakpo also took encouraging form into the World Cup.

Before the tournament, he scored both Netherlands goals in a 2-1 warm-up victory over Uzbekistan.

He has since continued to feature prominently for Ronald Koeman's side during their World Cup campaign, bagging a brace and an assist during the Netherlands' 5-1 demolition of Sweden.

Both forwards would provide De Zerbi with different qualities.

How much Omar Marmoush and Cody Gakpo could cost Tottenham

The financial outlay will be significant, whichever direction Spurs choose, with Pedulla describing their price tags as 'sky-high'.

Reports in Italy and England suggest Liverpool would consider offers of around €70 million, which equates to roughly £60 million, for Gakpo if the right proposal arrives.

Marmoush is expected to command an even higher fee.

City signed him for around £68 million including add-ons (Fabrizio Romano), and would likely be looking for a return on their investment to sell the 27-year-old.
