Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayTom Aspinall has shared his breakdown of Sean Strickland’s chances against Khamzat Chimaev ahead of Saturday’s UFC 328 event.
Chimaev is set to put the UFC Middleweight Championship on the line against Strickland inside the Prudential Center in Newark. Many are wondering how Strickland will respond once his back hits the mat. It’s a question that Aspinall also has going into this weekend’s card.
Aspinall assessed the big title fight in a new video on his YouTube channel.
“I think this is gonna be a good fight, first off,” Aspinall said. “Khamzat, to me, looks pretty unstoppable at the moment with his takedowns and stuff. He’s really dangerous with the striking as well. I think Sean Strickland probably has a little bit of an edge in the striking department, but with Khamzat’s grappling I don’t know if Sean Strickland will be able to get off the bottom enough times.”
The UFC Heavyweight Champion noted that he has trained with Strickland, albeit quite briefly. He mentioned that those close to Strickland believe he will have a major answer for Chimaev’s grappling.
“That being said, I know Sean’s coach, I’ve also trained with Sean a little bit as well,” Aspinall said. “Only a tiny bit though. I know a lot of people who are close to him and everyone keeps saying how good he is at getting up off the bottom. So, I think it’s going to be really interesting.”
Ultimately, Aspinall isn’t picking Strickland to pull off the upset, but he feels it’s possible.
“I think there’s definitely a chance for Strickland, but in my opinion, I’m leaning a little bit towards Khamzat,” Aspinall said.
