Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayTszyu says Crawford “knows his boxing” but insists the former undisputed champion has picked the wrong winner
Tim Tszyu doesn’t agree with Terence Crawford’s read on his July 25 fight against Errol Spence Jr.
Tim Tszyu has responded to Terence Crawford’s prediction for his July 25 fight with Errol Spence Jr., insisting the former undisputed champion has the outcome wrong. Tszyu said he respects Crawford’s boxing knowledge but believes the result in Australia will tell a different story.
“Everyone’s got something to say. I respect that. Crawford knows his boxing but, unfortunately, when that fight does happen, it’s not going to go down that path,” Tszyu told Jai McAllister.
The fight is an important one for both men.
Tszyu (25-3, 18 KOs) is trying to rebuild after a difficult stretch that saw him lose to Sebastian Fundora twice and suffer a stoppage defeat against Bakhram Murtazaliev. The former WBO junior middleweight champion has not recorded a significant victory since beating Brian Mendoza in 2023.
Spence (28-1, 22 KOs) enters with even more uncertainty. The former unified welterweight champion has not fought since his ninth-round stoppage loss to Crawford in July 2023 and will be returning after a three-year absence from the ring.
Despite the layoff, Crawford believes Spence still has enough left to defeat Tszyu. The Australian clearly disagrees.
Their July 25 showdown in Australia will give Tszyu a chance to prove that activity, youth, and home advantage count for more than Crawford’s prediction.
Fighting at home in Australia is another factor working in Tszyu’s favor. He expects a strong crowd and believes familiarity with the environment will help him deliver one of the best performances of his career.
