Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayTim Bradley believes O’Shaquie Foster should move to the front of the line for a fight against Shakur Stevenson if he defeats Raymond Ford in their WBC super featherweight title fight on Saturday night.
Bradley discussed the matchup while reacting to the final press conference between Foster and Ford. He compared Ford to a smaller version of Stevenson and argued that a strong performance by Foster could create a bigger opportunity afterward.
Foster previously held the WBC interim lightweight title and was linked to a fight with Stevenson earlier this year. The bout never materialized. Stevenson has since campaigned at 140 pounds and recently discussed a possible return to lightweight for a fight against IBF champion Raymond Muratalla.
“You know, Ford is like a little baby replica of Shakur Stevenson. Like a little baby replica of him, man. Like a little dialed-down version of him,” said Bradley on his channel.
“If O’Shaquie wins this fight and look hella good doing it, Shakur still ain’t got no dance partner. They need to fight. They need to fight in Texas, in Houston. That’ll be one of the biggest fights in Houston. O’Shaquie Foster and Shakur Stevenson.”
Bradley also questioned the idea of top fighters refusing to face each other because of personal relationships.
“Shakur ain’t fighting no damn Ford. You know Shakur ain’t fighting no damn Keyshawn. He made alliances with all these dudes. ‘They my brothers. They my brother.’ Ain’t got no kind of blood or kin or nothing.”
“Lamont Peterson was my brother, too. I remember playing spades on the train with my brother Lamont Peterson. But I had the title and he wanted it. So, we had the fight. That’s just what it is. It’s called a sport, people. Yeah, it’s business, too.”
Bradley also pointed to Foster’s long-running confidence about his past sparring sessions with Stevenson and predicted Foster would call for the fight if he gets past Ford on Saturday night.
“If we can’t get Haney or anybody else, yeah, we the fans. If O’Shaquie get this dub Saturday, hey bro, we ain’t telling you what to do, but we just saying. O’Shaquie is going to call your name. He the man. He the one that’s saying that you fake. He the one that say he can tap that ass easy, Shakur,” said Bradley.
Ford challenges Foster for the WBC super featherweight title Saturday in Houston. Bradley believes a convincing victory could put Foster back into the conversation for a future fight with Stevenson.
