Ben Davison is “on the chopping block” heading into Fabio Wardley’s rematch with Daniel Dubois, according to Tim Bradley, who believes the trainer needs a win after watching both Wardley and Anthony Joshua lose to Dubois.

His criticism targets both the preparation and Davison’s ability to get his fighter following instructions when the fight turns against him.

“You need a hell of a win this weekend, bro. You need some vindication,” Bradley said on his channel. “If you can’t figure this out and come with a different game plan this time around to where your fighter can be successful, that’s an issue.”

Bradley’s argument goes beyond wanting a louder voice in the corner. He believes Wardley repeatedly loaded up on looping right hands in the first fight, wasting his early advantage and leaving himself exposed after missing.

“He has no defense after he throws,” Bradley said.

In Bradley’s reading, Dubois’ trainer Don Charles recognized that flaw and asked for movement in and out of range. Wardley committed to a big punch, lost his positioning, and gave Dubois opportunities to answer. The jab then made Wardley’s work even harder.

That puts a specific responsibility on Davison. Wardley needs a reliable way to attack without leaving himself open to the next punch. Throwing harder or showing more courage cannot fix poor positioning.

Bradley wants a straighter right hand, a jab, and better defense after punching. He also wants Davison to take firmer control between rounds, invoking Emanuel Steward as the example.

“You been a little bit too light and sensitive in the corner,” Bradley said. “Get control of your fighter.”

A trainer cannot make every decision for a heavyweight under fire. But if Wardley returns to loading up on the same right hand while Dubois picks him apart, Davison will need to explain what changed in camp—and why it failed to reach the ring.
