1. Raleigh launches three homers

Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh has had a brutal follow-up to his massive 2025 season. He’s shown signs of life at the plate lately, though. The backstop carried Seattle to a win over the sizzling Phillies on Monday with a three-homer game. Raleigh hit two of the Mariners’ four homers off righty Zack Wheeler. He later tagged reliever Chase Shugart for a solo blast. Raleigh now has a .797 OPS in August. He’s the second catcher in Mariners history with a three-homer game. The first? His current manager, Dan Wilson.

2. Glasnow returns on Tuesday

The Dodgers will get Tyler Glasnow back in the rotation tonight against the Braves. The right-hander has missed more than three months with a back injury. Glasnow was off to a solid start before going down. He posted a 2.72 ERA with a 49:13 strikeout-to-walk ratio over his first seven appearances. Glasnow will step into the rotation spot of Justin Wrobleski, who is on the injured list with forearm inflammation.

3. Gausman tosses seven scoreless

Veteran righty Kevin Gausman had struggled mightily in his last two starts, allowing nine earned runs over nine innings. The difficult stretch pushed his ERA to a season-high 4.58. Gausman got back on track last night against the Diamondbacks, firing seven shutout innings in a 7-0 win. It was Gausman’s best start with the Cubs after coming over from the Blue Jays at the trade deadline. The defeat didn’t cost Arizona any ground in the NL Wild Card race, with the Phillies, Padres, Marlins, and Cardinals also losing.
