Daniel is an experienced football writer and editor, having worked in the football media industry for over a decade.
After voluntarily writing for Fresh Press for two years, helping to build and establish the Read brand, Daniel started a part-time job with Fresh Press that later turned into a full-time writing and editing role, writing for club-specific pages such as Read Norwich, Read Celtic, Read Liverpool, and Read Arsenal.
Daniel spent just shy of a year writing and editing for Liverpool-based website, Anfield Watch, which included conducting and/or transcribing interviews with Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg, former Wycombe striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, and journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Since the summer of 2021, Daniel has worked for Snack Media (now Valnet) and has been a contributor to Football FanCast, on a freelance and full-time basis, as a writer and editor.
Daniel is a Norwich City fan and season ticket holder. He has been heard on BBC Norfolk and helped DAZN with research for their commentary due to his knowledge of the club, along with being featured in several local papers across the country, including the Coventry Telegraph and the Liverpool Echo, for Norwich-related content.
Daniel's knowledge extends to Scottish football, having covered Celtic and Rangers for several years. He particularly enjoys producing player analysis and producing transfer content.
New Glasgow Rangers head coach Derek McInnes knows that he has plenty of work to do to improve the squad during the summer transfer window.
The Light Blues finished third in the Scottish Premiership last season, below their new manager's Hearts team, and need to bring in more quality to add to the group.
They have already swooped to sign Lawrence Shankland on a permanent deal from the Jam Tarts, after he scored 16 times in the Premiership in the 2025/26 campaign.
The Scotland international failed to score in his nation's 1-0 win over Haiti and was an unused substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Morocco at the World Cup so far, but could face Brazil in the third group match.
He is a proven Premiership performer who already knows McInnes and should be able to hit the ground running at Ibrox, irrespective of his slow start to the World Cup.
Rangers make Scotland international one of their top targets
Shankland scored more league goals than any Rangers players managed last term, scoring one more than Youssef Chermiti, and could be the main man up front for McInnes in Glasgow.
The experienced centre-forward is not the only current member of the Scotland squad who could make the move to Ibrox this summer, though, as the club are eyeing up one of his international teammates.

According to Football Insider, Glasgow Rangers are looking at a potential swoop for Everton right-back Nathan Patterson in the summer transfer window.
The report claims that the Gers have made the Scotland international, who started against Morocco on Friday, one of their main targets for McInnes in the off-season.
It adds that Patterson is increasingly likely to leave the Hill Dickinson stadium before the start of next season, and the Light Blues are hoping to bring him back to Ibrox.
However, Everton are said to be demanding a decent fee for his services and his wages, which are not disclosed in the report, are a challenge for the Scottish giants to match, which means that it will not be a straightforward deal.
Rangers could sign their next Steven Davis
Rangers could unearth their next version of Steven Davis by completing a swoop to bring Patterson back to Ibrox, as it would be his second spell in Glasgow.
Davis, of course, famously had two spells as a player with the Light Blues, either side of a stint in England with Southampton, and racked up 370 appearances for the club in all competitions.
The Northern Ireland international won the Scottish Premiership in both stints at Ibrox, which is something that Patterson could also achieve if he returns to the club.

After coming through the academy system, the Scottish full-back played seven times for Steven Gerrard's title-winning side in the 2020/21 campaign, lifting the Premiership title in his second season as a first-team player.
He played 27 times for Rangers in all competitions before being sold to Everton for £11.5m in January 2022, and has played 67 matches for the Toffees since his move to England.
Patterson, who has made eight defensive contributions in two World Cup matches, has not been a regular starter at Everton, hence why he looks set for a summer move, but he did show flashes of quality in his first spell in Scotland.
In the first half of the 2021/22 season, the Scottish defender ranked in the top 8% of right-backs in the Premiership for xA per 90 (0.24) and the top 10% for 'big chances' created per 90 (0.39), which speaks to the attacking quality that he can provide.
At the age of 24, Patterson would return to Ibrox with plenty of time left ahead of him to forge a long and successful career for himself at Ibrox, which means that he could yet follow in Davis' footsteps.
A return to Rangers would provide him with the opportunity to play week-in-week-out, as James Tavernier's replacement, and his age and quality could allow him to be the starting right-back at the club for the next decade, if that is what he wants.
