Saucony running shoes are said to be some of the best in the business – but which pair is best for you? We ask our expert testers...
When it comes to the best women’s running shoes, Saucony is a name that always comes up. Even if we’re not quite sure how to pronounce it! (It’s sock-a-knee, by the way.)
Saucony have some history when it comes to running shoes. They’ve been helping runners to run in comfort since they were founded in Boston in 1898. Their guiding boulders were Good Performance, Good Health and Good Community. In recent years, they have improved upon their iconic designs, like the Triumph, and introduced some new and exciting innovations, like their speedy Endorphin collection.
But which shoe is right for you? We’ve tested a whole host of the latest Saucony shoes, and our expert testers have recommended exactly who each style is best suited to. Read on for our guide to the best Saucony running shoes for women…

Drop: 8mm
Stack Height: 27mm/19mm

What our tester said
“I’ve done runs of 4 to 8 miles in these shoes during testing. Thankfully they were all in dry conditions because I just love the look of these shoes and will be heartbroken when they finally make contact with a muddy puddle. Looks aside, I think they’re a great shoe.
My first run in them was actually 8 miles, which was quite bold in a new shoe, but I’d run in the Ride 17 and these didn’t seem too radically different from that. In fact, if you were a fan of the Ride 17, you’ll probably be happy with this one too. It’s a little lighter and a little softer, but all in all it holds true to its predecessor.
The shoe performed well on the run, it was comfortable and responsive rater than heavy. I wasn’t pushing the pace on any of my runs, and that’s where I felt this shoe’s sweet spot is – those relaxed paced, easy runs.”

Best for comfort: Saucony Triumph 23
Saucony Triumph 23 technical details
RRP: £170
Weight: 239g
Sizes: 3 to 10 (wide fit available)
Drop: 10mm
Foam: PWRRUN PB
What our tester said
“I’ve done runs of 4 to 6 miles in the Triumph 23 and I’ve enjoyed running in the shoe. It’s light, bouncy and fun. I’ve run on the roads in it at a few club runs now. To me it fits in my shoe rotation as a dependable trainer for easy runs. It can definitely handle you running a little quicker in it and you’d be able to take it out for some tempo run. It’s not as lively as something like the Saucony Speed, which is made for faster training sessions, but it’s more versatile than other cushioned daily trainers I’ve tried.”

Best value speed shoe: Saucony Endorphin Azura
Saucony Endorphin Azura technical details
RRP: £140
Weight: 212g
Sizes: 4-9
Drop: 8mm
Stack Height: 40mm/ 32mm
Foam: PWRRUN PB
What our tester said
“The Azura has slotted into my running shoe rotation with ease – I’d been looking for something to replace my old Mizuno Neo Vista 2 shoes that I’ve run into the ground, and the Endorphin Azura fits the bill perfectly.
I love the snappy, responsive feel and they’ve definitely given a sense of drive and urgency to my tempo runs, but they don’t feel nearly as difficult to run in as carbon shoes. There’s enough support that I don’t feel unstable in them, and they’re really comfortable for long miles. I wasn’t expecting to reach for them on my long runs, but have found myself wanting to trial them for race day. I’ve got a half marathon PB attempt coming up, and they’re going to be perfect for maintaining a steady pace over a longer time period.”

Best super shoe for everyday runners: Saucony Endorphin Speed 5
Saucony Endorphin Speed 5 technical details
RRP: £180
Weight: 204g
Sizes: 3-10
Drop: 8mm
Stack Height: 36mm/ 28mm
Foam: PWRRUN PB
What our tester said
“This is a really comfortable shoe, particularly as a plated trainer. The PWRRUN PB foam offers a good balance of cushion and responsiveness that is comfortable under foot. The nylon plate provides just the right amount of rigidity for propulsion without the harsh stiffness you can get from more aggressive shoes.
I’ve done a range of runs in these shoes now over distances up to 10k. As you’d expect from a plated trainer, the Endorphin Speed 5 is most at home when you’re putting in a little bit more effort and running a bit faster.
Overall I think this is a great shoe that fans of the Endorphin Speed will be happy with. It would work well for those experimenting with a plated shoe who aren’t sure about a full on carbon race shoe, or for those who want a faster trainer for part of their shoe rotation.”

Best super shoe for everyday runners: Saucony Endorphin Pro 5
Saucony Endorphin Pro 5 technical details
RRP: £250
Weight: 178g
Drop: 8mm
Stack Height: 39.5mm/ 31.5mm
Foam: PWRRUN PB
Special tech: SPEEDROLL carbon fibre plate
What our tester said
“These shoes have a definite sense of urgency, but one that makes me feel like I’m in the driver’s seat. I’ve been wearing them for my fastest interval sessions and they’ve really helped me pick up the pace, with a lovely responsiveness to that carbon plate that I’d usually associate with a much less cushioned, comfortable shoe. They’re a fantastic racing option – and they look incredibly cool, I must say!”

Best for stability: Saucony Guide 19
Saucony Guide 19 technical details
RRP: £140
Weight: 252g
Drop: 6mm
Stack Height: 39.5mm/ 31.5mm
Foam: PWRRUN cushioning
Special tech: Centerpath Technology
What our tester said
“On the run, the Guide 19 feels smooth, stable and dependable. The rocker geometry helps the shoe roll nicely through transitions, and I found the platform supportive without feeling intrusive. The cushioning absorbs impact well on roads, while still maintaining enough responsiveness to stop the ride feeling flat.
It’s not a fast shoe, but I found it handled everything from short recovery runs to longer steady sessions comfortably. The wider base also gives a reassuringly planted feel, especially on tired legs.”

Best for max cushioned stability: Saucony Hurricane 25
Saucony Hurricane 25 technical details
RRP: £165
Weight: 256g
Sizes: 3-10 (wide fit option)
Drop: 6mm
Stack Height: 32mm/ 38mm
Foam: PWRRUN PB
What our tester said
“I’ve run two easy 10k runs in these – both were on smooth roads and pavements where these shoes are happiest. They feel soft, stable, and smooth. The rocker geometry helps roll you forward effortlessly, while the PWRRUN PB midsole provides energy return that keeps the shoe feeling lively despite its plushness.
This is not a tempo shoe, the weight and cushioning make it more suited to steady paces. But for long runs, recovery miles, and everyday training it feels like a dependable and enjoyable option.”
