Canadian brand 7mesh is known for its functional, well-thought-out mountain bike apparel. Founded by former Arc’teryx employees, the company places great emphasis on high-quality materials, precise craftsmanship, and carefully designed cuts. With their minimalist yet highly technical designs, 7mesh have made a name for themselves, offering clothing for all weather conditions and riding scenarios.
Retailing at €220, the Flightpath Pant is the ultimate all-rounder in 7mesh’s portfolio, and is designed to excel in all riding situations. It sits above the lighter Glidepath and below the waterproof Girt Pant, which is built for the harshest conditions. The 7mesh Flightpath Pant is available in black, blue, and brown, promising to be a comfortable, durable pant that also provides a certain level of weather resistance. But does it live up to the claims? We put it through extensive testing to find out.

The 7mesh Flightpath Pants on Test

The 7mesh Flightpath Pants are simple yet functional MTB pants with a minimalist design and two subtle reflective parches, which ensure a clean, understated look. But behind the unassuming appearance lies a well-thought-out concept: the pants are made from abrasion-resistant Cordura material, which is designed to ensure exceptional durability. Additionally, a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating provides water resistance – though it requires reapplication after a few washes to maintain optimal performance.

Despite the robust material, the Flightpath Pant feels pleasantly light and stretchy. The fit is slim but not too tight, offering a comfortable feel without excess fabric flapping at high speeds – while at the same time avoiding a skinsuit-like look. The fabric sits nicely against the skin without feeling plasticky or sticky when sweating. Breathability is excellent – even on hot climbs, we never experienced that overwhelming sauna feeling, although lighter, airier pants do exist.

For waist adjustment, 7mesh combine a snap button with a hook system that can be adjusted in seven different positions – all without belt loops, which have been completely omitted. We didn’t find this to be an issue, as we rarely wear belts while riding anyway.

The pocket design is another highlight of the Flightpath Pants. Two open hand pockets are positioned high enough to keep contents secure even while riding. Two zippered thigh pockets provide additional storage for valuables. A particularly practical touch: the right pocket includes a small mesh inner pouch, which is perfect for keeping your phone in place. Overall, the pocket material is very robust, and showed no signs of wear even after carrying keys and a multitool on a regular basis.

The positioning of the side pockets is spot-on, andenables easy access while pedalling, meaning that you can quickly check your Strava heatmap on the go. The zippers worked smoothly and reliably throughout the testing period, even after extensive use. Four well-thought-out and functional pockets are a rare sight on MTB pants, but 7mesh nailed it with the Flightpath Pant. Whether it’s some snacks, multitool, or other essentials – everything has its place. Awesome!

The rugged Cordura material can take a beating while still feeling comfortable, stretchy, and breathable. The slim fit prevents flapping and ensures a high level of comfort, even on a long day in the saddle.
