The statistics sell the fight before either man opens his mouth.

Australia’s Teremoana, 11-0 (11 KOs), has blasted through every opponent since joining the professional ranks after the Paris Olympics, while Savage, 11-1 (11 KOs), has built his reputation on explosive finishing power, with only Brandon Moore lasting long enough to hand him a points defeat.

Matchroom chairman Eddie Hearn believes neither man knows how to take a backward step.

“You look at that face-off and you see two men who genuinely do not miss when they land. Teremoana is the future of this division, but Savage is exactly the kind of live opponent that proves it. Nobody else wanted this fight, but Savage did, and now we get to see what happens when two knockout artists collide.”

Teremoana welcomed the assignment and insisted Savage represents the type of opponent he wants as he climbs the heavyweight ladder.

“Seeing him up close, even virtually, you get a sense of what’s coming on August 12. He’s dangerous, he’s proven, and he’s undefeated by knockout for a reason. But this is exactly the kind of test I need on the road to becoming heavyweight world champion. I can’t wait to do this in front of my people on the Gold Coast.”

The Australian then sharpened the exchange with a direct warning.

“Prepare well these next few weeks because standing in front of you is a big challenge. I’m telling you now, you’re not going to get through it.”

Savage barely paused before firing one back.

“I’m ready to fight tomorrow. This has been one of the best camps I’ve been in. I’m ready get down there and show the world what I can do.”

The heavyweight showdown headlines a Matchroom card that also features Michael Zerafa against Alejandro Ortiz in the co-main event, alongside appearances from Jack Bowen, Jasmine Parr, Jemma Peart and Lekesha Woodbridge.

On paper, both heavyweights promise knockouts. On August 12, one of them will have to prove he can survive when the other lands first.
