The McCanney brothers are back and lining up in the international team at the most anticipated Motocross event of 2026, the VMXdN Hawkstone held over the August bank holiday weekend at the iconic and beautiful Grand Prix circuit in Shropshire.

Danny McCanney is no stranger to the event and is back after back-to-back top ten finishes in the international class. This year, to tackle the softer conditions, he is racing an SX 380. The two-time Junior World Enduro and British Enduro champion isn’t scared to get in the mix and look for him off the gate; that KTM is blisteringly quick out of the gate.

His brother-in-arms, Jamie McCanney, who also boasts a youth enduro world championship, a junior enduro world championship and two-time British enduro championships, not to forget a 15th overall in the gruelling Dakar rally-on his first attempt! He will be racing a CR500 when the gate drops on the 29th.

The final man on the squad is Gavin Hunt, who brings his RM 250 to the line. His MX career includes an Isle of Man champion as well as racing the British Superbike Championship; he’s not scared to twist it!

VMXdN brings together legends past and present for four days of pure motocross nostalgia, running across the August Bank Holiday weekend, Thursday 27th to Sunday August 30th Gates open at midday on Thursday, giving fans the chance to explore the trade village, wander the open paddock, and take on the track walk (that hill is steeper than it looks) before the unmissable Show’N’Shine on Friday, a two-stroke fan’s dream. As night falls, the legendary beer tent comes alive with DJ sets to keep the atmosphere buzzing ahead of the gate dropping on Saturday morning, when riders from across the globe go bar-to-bar in true ’90s motocross style

The demand for VMXdN Hawkstone has been unprecedented, with organisers returning to local landowners three separate times to secure additional camping fields adjacent to the circuit just to keep pace with fan interest. With space filling up fast, this is shaping up to be the biggest edition yet, and one you won’t want to miss. If you only make it to one race this year, make it this one; miss it, and you’ll be hearing about it from everyone who didn’t.

Saturday, Sunday, Weekend Tickets and Camping Passes are available here www.vmxdnhawkstone.com
