Maxime Grau claws a Top 10 finish in MX2, a weekend of sacrifice for Alvisi

The eighth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship concluded on the selective and technical Kegums track, which also hosted the EMX250 European Championship circus over the weekend. For Team Honda Maddii ABF Italia, led by Marco and Corrado Maddii, it was a weekend of two halves: extremely positive in terms of overall performance, but also characterized by a tough test of physical endurance.

MX2: Splendid Top 10 for Maxime Grau
In a fierce category like MX2 and on a traditionally difficult terrain like the Latvian one, Maxime Grau delivered a capital performance. Despite racing on a surface historically not ideal for his physical and riding characteristics, the French rider threw his heart over the obstacle. With solid, smart, and consistent race management, Grau secured a fantastic tenth place in the overall daily standings, allowing the team to harvest the maximum possible result in this round.

EMX250: Niccolò Alvisi grits his teeth against the flu
The weekend was definitely more of an uphill battle for Niccolò Alvisi, competing in the EMX250 European Championship. Unfortunately, the young Italian rider was debilitated by a severe bout of the flu that struck and conditioned him throughout the entire weekend. Far from being in the ideal physical condition to face the pitfalls of Kegums, Alvisi showed the character of a true fighter: he gritted his teeth, took to the track, and, despite the objective difficulties, managed to finish the round in 10th place, bringing home incredibly heavy points for the championship chase.

We are very happy with the performance and the Top 10 of Maxime Grau, who rode an excellent race on a track that is difficult for him, allowing us to achieve the maximum of our potential. On the other hand, there is a bit of regret for Niccolò Alvisi, who was sick all weekend due to the flu. He was not at all in the best condition to race, but he was great not to give up, to grit his teeth, and to bring home some points that are fundamental for the championship, despite the great physical difficulties.”
