All three judges scored it 100-90 for Thibeault, who moved to 5-0 with three knockouts. Robinson dropped to 12-4 after losing her titles.

Thibeault established control with her reach, keeping Robinson on the outside while landing clean counters. Robinson tried forcing a physical battle by pressing forward, but getting inside without taking punishment proved difficult.

The bout turned messy after an accidental clash of heads left Thibeault bleeding heavily from the nose. Blood covered her face through the later rounds, giving Robinson an opportunity to increase the pressure.

It wasn’t enough.

The 29-year-old boxed effectively through the injury without surrendering control. Robinson maintained a steady attack but couldn’t change the direction of the fight. Thibeault remained the sharper, more technically sound fighter until the final bell.

Thibeault earned gold at the 2022 World Championships, captured Commonwealth and Pan American titles, and represented Canada at two Olympic Games before turning professional.

Her quick rise puts her in position for much bigger fights at 160 pounds. Kaye Scott holds the WBA and WBC belts and faces Claressa Shields on August 15 in Atlanta.

If Shields wins, an undisputed fight against Thibeault becomes an obvious attraction. The difficulty is deciding when to make it. Thibeault may possess the talent, but five professional fights is limited preparation for a boxer with Shields’ championship experience.

MVP has no reason to rush that decision. Thibeault has already shown she belongs at world level. A few more fights could tell her team whether she’s ready to go directly after Shields or needs more professional seasoning first.
