Seth Trimble has committed to Louisville for the upcoming college basketball season after spending his previous four years at North Carolina.

Trimble said he still considers North Carolina “home,” but the Tar Heels’ full roster led him to look for an opportunity elsewhere.

The 6-foot-3 guard is among several players recently granted a fifth season of college eligibility through a legal ruling.

However, the NCAA has challenged the decision, meaning Trimble’s additional year of eligibility is not yet guaranteed.

During his senior season at North Carolina, Trimble averaged 14 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

He also played for the Washington Wizards during NBA Summer League in Las Vegas but did not sign a professional contract, leaving the door open for his planned move to Louisville.
