UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland requests that the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights help check off his bucket list.

Sean Strickland is known to always be up for a fight, whether it’s in the gym, in the cage, or in the streets of Las Vegas. Strickland most recently reclaimed the UFC middleweight title by handing Khamzat Chimaev his first career loss at UFC 328 earlier this month.

As Strickland prepares for a potential title rematch against top contender Nassourdine Imavov, the polarizing UFC star is keeping active and continues to spar routinely at Xtreme Couture. A short drive away from Xtreme Couture, the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights are in the middle of a postseason run and are a few wins away from a spot in the Stanley Cup Final.

Hockey players and MMA fighters both understand the art of throwing hands, and Strickland wants to check an item off his bucket list while proving that fighters like him are better at fistfighting.

Sean Strickland issues open challenge to NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights

In a recent tweet, Strickland sent a message to the Vegas Golden Knights.

“I really want to box a hockey player,” Strickland said.

“This is on the bucket list, but it has to be done on ice to make it fair [LAUGHS]. Golden Knights, pick your champion.”

As of this writing, the Knights’ social media accounts haven’t responded to Strickland’s challenge.

If Strickland’s challenge is accepted, he’ll have to battle through several injuries suffered during his win at UFC 328. Strickland also suffered a shoulder injury just days before fight night, as he admitted in a now-viral backstage clip.

Despite his ailments, Strickland seems committed to boxing with one of the Knights’ players as he prepares for his Octagon comeback later this year.

Who should Sean Strickland fight next after UFC 328? Let us know in the comments!
